Special Educational Needs

We understand how important it is for all children to be able to access learning through play. At HAGS we believe that more inclusive play spaces allow children to connect with others in a positive way, relieve feelings of stress, stimulate creative thinking, exploration and boost confidence.

Sports

Our range of outdoor sports & fitness allow secondary school children to hang out while getting some much-needed physical exercise. We have a range of equipment such as the classic Multi Use Game Areas, Primary Arena and Outdoor Fitness Equipment.

HAGS had previously completed two successful projects for the school, and so were invited to attend a consultation along with the children. The children wanted to bring music and sound into the area and the school had a preference for steel equipment, rather than timber.

Kingsland school Special Needs Playgrounds

Kingsland school's inclusive playgrounds

Kirsty Rowlands, Assistant Headteacher:

“Before we had all this new equipment there was nowhere for the children to engage in outside, which can lead to a lot of waiting and boredom. Our children get very anxious about social interactions a lot of the time, and if there’s nothing to engage them then it can be quite anxiety inducing for them. Having these new areas not only encourages positive social skills but it also meets their sensory needs”.
